Turmeric Ginger Paste Recipe


Ingredients:

  • Juice of 4 to 6 lemons (depending on size)
  • 1/3 cup fresh organic ginger root, chopped
  • 1/3 cup fresh organic turmeric root, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Add enough extra virgin olive oil to create a paste, adjusting as needed. You may need to add a little more and blend well until you reach your desired consistency.

Instructions:

  1. In a blender, add lemon juice and either olive oil or water.
  2. Add the chopped turmeric, ginger, and black pepper.
  3. Blend on high until the paste reaches a mustard-like consistency.
  4. If needed, add more olive oil or water for the desired texture. Stop and stir occasionally to check the consistency.

 

Note: If using this paste for weight loss, you may prefer water instead of olive oil. You can also use a mix of both. If using it as an immunity booster, it’s best to use only olive oil.

*Personally, I always use olive oil, and I find it works amazingly well for both weight loss and immunity!

 

Storage:

  • Store in a glass mason jar in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • If you make a larger batch, freeze the extra for later use.

 

How to Use:

  • For a warming detox drink, add 1 tablespoon of the paste to a large mug, fill with hot water, and stir. (I also love adding a splash of homemade nut milk!)
  • For an immunity boost, take 1 tablespoon straight, first thing in the morning.

This paste is incredible for boosting immunity, relieving bloating, and supporting weight loss – so feel free to share this recipe with as many people as possible!
